Saints Rule Out Cameron Jordan for Opener at Detroit With Hamstring Injury
The 37-year-old hasn't practiced since Aug. 6 and will miss just the third game of his career; Alvin Kamara was limited Wednesday in his return from an MCL sprain.
New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan has been ruled out of Sunday's opener at Detroit with a hamstring injury that has kept him off the practice field since Aug. 6.
How unusual is this for Jordan?
It will be only the third game he has missed in his career, after a COVID-19 absence in 2021 and an orbital fracture in 2022, and his first missed game in three seasons. "Cam's going to do everything possible to play ... he's progressing well. He's done a really good job through this recovery process, and we'll just take it week by week," coach Kellen Moore said.
What about the rest of the Saints' injury list?
Alvin Kamara was a limited participant Wednesday as he works back from the MCL sprain he suffered in an Aug. 18 joint practice, an injury originally expected to cost him about a month. Kendre Miller returned to practice after leaving early last week, while running back Audric Estime did not practice because of a thigh injury.
