Andre' Sam's path to the NFL is defined by resilience: he lost his father and grandfather at age six and his older brother to a shooting during his senior year of high school, yet walked on at McNeese with no scholarship offers and built a seven-year career across three programs. He signed with Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent and won a Super Bowl ring in his first NFL season.

Path to the league

Sam walked on at McNeese in 2017 with no scholarship offers, later playing at Marshall before finishing his career at LSU in 2023. He went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent.

Career highlights

Across seven seasons and 68 games at McNeese, Marshall and LSU, Sam totaled 317 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and nine interceptions. In his lone season at LSU in 2023, he earned the team's Defensive Player of the Year award after recording 85 tackles and a team-leading three interceptions.

2025 season recap

Sam made his NFL debut in Week 14 of the 2024 season against Carolina and was on Philadelphia's roster when the Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX, making him a Super Bowl champion in his first NFL season.
