A third-round TCU tackle who has shown the versatility to start at multiple spots along Washington's offensive line as injuries created opportunity.
Brandon Coleman built his reputation at TCU as a do-everything lineman who played every spot but center, and Washington has leaned on that versatility early in his career. After starting mostly at left tackle as a rookie, he shifted around the line in 2025, stepping in at left tackle again when the Commanders needed him most.
Path to the league
Coleman started his college career at Trinity Valley Community College before joining TCU in 2020. He developed into a full-time starter and team captain by 2023, and the Washington Commanders drafted him in the third round (67th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Coleman earned second-team All-Big 12 honors as a senior captain in 2023, a season in which he allowed just one sack across 723 snaps while starting at both left tackle and left guard. He was a two-time All-Big 12 selection during his TCU career and helped the Horned Frogs reach the national championship game in 2022.
2025 season recap
Coleman started the first two games of 2025 at left guard before being benched in Week 3, then spent several weeks as a healthy inactive. He returned to the lineup at left tackle in Week 8 after Laremy Tunsil suffered a hamstring injury, ultimately starting the season's final three games at the position.
