Jadarius "Bud" Clark spent parts of six seasons at TCU, taking advantage of the extra COVID-19 eligibility year to become one of the most experienced defensive backs in his draft class. The Seahawks took him in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft to help fill the void left by Coby Bryant's free agency departure, and his ability to line up at safety, nickel and cornerback made him an easy scheme fit.

Path to the league

Clark was a four-star recruit out of Alexandria, Louisiana, choosing TCU over LSU, Oklahoma and Ole Miss. He redshirted early in his college career and grew into a full-time starter over his final three seasons, logging snaps at free safety, in the box and in the slot for the Horned Frogs.

Career highlights

Over his TCU career, Clark intercepted 15 passes, including four picks and a pick-six in his final season, and earned two second-team All-Big 12 selections as a three-time team captain. His signature moment came in the 2022 College Football Playoff semifinal against Michigan, when he returned a J.J. McCarthy interception 41 yards for a touchdown in TCU's 51-45 upset win at the Fiesta Bowl.

2025 season recap

Clark closed out his TCU career in 2025 before entering the draft, continuing to log snaps across multiple defensive back spots as the Horned Frogs' veteran leader in the secondary. He ran a 4.41-second 40-yard dash and posted a 38-inch vertical at the combine, numbers that helped cement him as a second-round pick to Seattle.
