Javon Hargrave is a two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle who signed with the Green Bay Packers in 2026.
Hargrave was a third-round pick out of South Carolina State in 2016 and built a reputation as one of the NFL's most disruptive interior rushers with the Steelers, Eagles and 49ers. He played the 2025 season with the Minnesota Vikings after a triceps injury ended his 2024 campaign in San Francisco. In March 2026 he signed a two-year deal with Green Bay.
Path to the league
Hargrave starred at South Carolina State, an FCS program, before the Steelers took him in the third round of the 2016 draft. He spent four seasons in Pittsburgh, then signed with the Eagles, where he earned Pro Bowl honors and won Super Bowl LVII. He later signed with the 49ers before a 2024 triceps tear ended that season early.
Career highlights
Hargrave has made two Pro Bowls and ranks among his generation's better interior pass rushers, including a double-digit sack season in Philadelphia. He was released by San Francisco and signed with Minnesota for 2025. The Packers added him in March 2026 on a two-year, $23 million contract, per the team and Heavy.
2025 season
Per ESPN, Hargrave played 16 games with 15 starts for the Vikings in 2025, finishing with 3.5 sacks, 52 total tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Minnesota released him after the season, and Green Bay signed him in March 2026. He joins the Packers as a veteran addition to their interior defensive line.
