The son of Eagles legend Jeremiah Trotter, carving out his own role in Philadelphia's linebacker room after a Super Bowl LIX rookie season.

Jeremiah Trotter Jr. joined the Eagles in the same city where his father became a fan favorite, a fifth-round pick out of Clemson in 2024. He won a championship as a rookie and has steadily built on it, developing into a reliable presence in Philadelphia's linebacker rotation.

Path to the league

Trotter enrolled early at Clemson and developed into one of the ACC's top linebackers, earning second-team All-American honors as a sophomore in 2022 with 89 tackles and 6.5 sacks, then first-team All-ACC recognition in 2023. Over three seasons he compiled 29.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks and four interceptions. The Eagles selected him in the fifth round, 155th overall, in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

As a rookie in 2024, Trotter appeared in 17 games with one start, finishing with 25 tackles and half a sack, and recorded his first career fumble recovery in the Wild Card playoff win over Green Bay. He capped the season with a tackle in the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX win over Kansas City. He is the son of former Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, a four-time Pro Bowler and Eagles Hall of Fame member, and his brother Josiah played linebacker at Missouri before being drafted by Tampa Bay.

2025 season recap

Trotter built on his rookie year in 2025, playing in all 17 games and posting 32 tackles and a pass deflection while earning strong marks for his run defense and pass-rush contributions as a blitzer.
