A junior college walk-on who became a sixth-round pick, Jerrick Reed II has rebuilt his career after a torn ACL and now patrols the Titans' secondary.

Jerrick Reed II's route to the NFL began at a Mississippi junior college and wound through New Mexico before Seattle drafted him in 2023. After a rookie-year ACL tear slowed his rise, the hard-hitting safety was claimed off waivers by Tennessee, where he is fighting for playing time and a foothold on special teams.

Path to the league

Reed started at Northwest Mississippi Community College before transferring to New Mexico, where he became a standout defensive back from 2019 to 2022. As a junior, he intercepted four passes in just seven games, and as a senior he racked up 94 tackles across 12 games and won the program's team MVP award. Seattle selected him in the sixth round, 198th overall, in the 2023 NFL Draft, making him the first New Mexico player drafted since 2018.

Career highlights

Reed earned a spot on the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team in 2023 despite his season being cut short by a torn ACL in Week 11. He spent the following seasons working his way back into Seattle's rotation as a backup and special-teams contributor.

2025 season recap

After multiple roster moves with the Seahawks in 2025, Reed was claimed off waivers by the Titans on November 5. He signed a one-year contract extension with Tennessee in March 2026, giving him a fresh opportunity to compete for defensive snaps and special-teams work in the Titans' secondary.
