A onetime Pac-12 Freshman of the Year at USC who took a four-school college odyssey and found his first NFL action with the Cardinals.

Kedon Slovis burst onto the scene as a true freshman at USC before injuries and roster shakeups sent him through Pittsburgh and BYU. The Scottsdale, Arizona native, who once trained under Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner in high school, has bounced through three NFL organizations as a depth arm and finally got on the field for his hometown Cardinals in 2025.

Path to the league

Slovis grew up in Scottsdale and starred at Desert Mountain High School, where his quarterbacks coach was Kurt Warner. He took over as USC's starter as a true freshman in 2019, then transferred to Pittsburgh in 2022 and finished his college career at BYU in 2023. He went undrafted in 2024 and signed with the Indianapolis Colts before later landing on the Houston Texans' practice squad.

Career highlights

As a USC freshman in 2019, Slovis threw for 3,502 yards and 30 touchdowns, earning Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year and All-Pac-12 first-team honors the following season. He finished his USC career with 11,689 passing yards across three seasons. At BYU in 2023, he completed 153 of 266 passes for 1,716 yards and 12 touchdowns.

2025 season recap

Slovis signed a reserve/future contract with Arizona in January 2025 and was promoted to the active roster in October due to injuries at the position. He made his NFL regular season debut against Seattle on November 9, finishing 2025 with 2 pass attempts and 1 completion for -2 yards across two games.
