Smael Mondon Jr. spent three years as a starter on Georgia teams that won back-to-back national championships, developing into one of the steadier tacklers in the SEC. The Eagles traded up to grab him in the fifth round of the 2025 draft, giving Philadelphia its eighth Georgia product on the roster.

Path to the league

A five-star recruit out of Paulding County High School in Georgia's 2021 class, Mondon started for three seasons at linebacker for the Bulldogs and racked up 201 tackles while helping Georgia win national titles. Philadelphia drafted him in the fifth round, No. 161 overall, of the 2025 NFL Draft via a trade with Houston.
