Rams Lose Davante Adams for 6 to 10 Weeks as Injuries Pile Up; Brandon McManus Signed
Adams ruptured a hamstring in the loss to Arizona and will have surgery. Poona Ford is out for the season, Kobie Turner is out several weeks, kicker Blake Grupe tore his ACL, and Myles Garrett still is not practicing. The Rams are 2-4.
Los Angeles Rams receiver Davante Adams will miss six to 10 weeks with a ruptured semitendinosus, one of the hamstring muscles, Sean McVay said after Sunday's 18-16 loss to Arizona. Dr. Neal ElAttrache will repair it, and Adams hopes to be back around the team's Week 11 bye.
Who else did the Rams lose?
Nose tackle Poona Ford is out for the season with a ruptured triceps, defensive tackle Kobie Turner will miss a handful of weeks with a groin injury, and kicker Blake Grupe tore his ACL in his first game with the team. Cornerback Trent McDuffie missed the Arizona game with a groin injury and is progressing. Myles Garrett, out since knee surgery in September, will not practice this week. Adams had 30 catches for 480 yards and four touchdowns.
What did they do about it?
Signed Brandon McManus, who went 44 of 51 over two seasons with Green Bay and spent nine years in Denver, after working him out alongside Matt Prater. Adams and Ford went on injured reserve. Puka Nacua is the lead receiver, with Konata Mumpfield, Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell behind him. The Rams opened the season as Super Bowl favorites and are 2-4 after losses to Buffalo and Arizona; left tackle Alaric Jackson returns from his suspension Sunday at Las Vegas.
