Week 5: Eagles Meet Jaguars in London With Philadelphia on a Two-Game Slide
The Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars meet at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Sunday, October 11, with Jacksonville the designated home team. Philadelphia is 2-2 after a 24-20 home loss to the Rams in which it gained 172 yards and went 0 of 12 on third down; Saquon Barkley left with a hamstring injury, DeVonta Smith (hamstring), Dallas Goedert (knee) and Zack Baun (concussion) were already out, and Lane Johnson, inactive for personal reasons, retired on Tuesday. Jacksonville is 3-1 after a 22-17 win at Cincinnati in which Trevor Lawrence went 18 of 23 without a turnover; the Jaguars have allowed 53 points, the fewest in the league.
Philadelphia's health
Barkley's hamstring is the biggest question for an offense that has scored 27 points in two games.
Jacksonville's defense
Fifty-three points allowed in four games with three takeaways against New England and none given away in Cincinnati.
A 9:30 a.m. kickoff for both
Neither team is home, and Philadelphia has lost two straight by a combined 24.
AI Prediction
Eagles
Jaguars Jacksonville has been the better team for a month
Three wins by 5 or more and the league's best scoring defense.
The Eagles' offense is broken right now
One hundred seventy-two yards at home against a Rams defense without Aaron Donald.
Philadelphia's defense can keep it close
It held the Rams to 24 despite being on the field for 32 minutes.
A Medium lean for the Jaguars. If Barkley and Smith are both ruled out, the pregame update would push this higher.
